In an interview with El Pais, Real Madrid vice captain Sergio Ramos discussed his new role in the Real Madrid dressing room, and praised Jose Mourinho’s work at the helm so far.
Ramos said: “We are delighted with Mourinho. He has character, and knows how to bring out the best in each player during training. Now I understand why he won so much titles.”
“He makes things very clear and knows how to transmit his ideas to the players. We will become phenomenal.”
“Now that I’m vice captain, I face things in the dressing room that others do not have to face. To represent this club requires ultimate sacrifice and commitment.”
“I now like to help the kids who come to Real Madrid. When I arrived, I was just 19 years old, and at the club there were Zidane, Roberto Carlos, Raul, and Beckham. Now my turn is to take care of the young players.”
“I am a veteran player who had to mature quickly. It’s my sixth season in Real Madrid, few defenders can say that.”
